So much fun!

I got the Glass Fusing Kit and it was an absolute blast! Everything was so well organized and the instructions were clear, even for a beginner like me. I made some really cool pieces. I'm already planning to get a Mosaic Kit next and will definitely tell all my friends about Crackpots. So glad I found this place!

Consistent quality, happy repeat customer

I ordered another Pottery Painting At-Home Kit last month, and just like my previous orders, it arrived quickly and had everything I needed. The glaze sets are always fresh, and the ceramic bisque pieces are well-packaged. It's why I keep coming back to Crackpots; I know what to expect and they always deliver. This time I got a couple of their Animal Figurines, they were adorable.

Good experience, room for improvement

I booked a Pottery Painting Studio Session for myself and a friend. The studio itself was clean and well-stocked, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We picked out some Ceramic Mugs and had a good time painting. My only real gripe was the wait time for firing; it took about 10 days to pick up our finished pieces, which felt a bit long. Also, the online booking system was a little clunky to navigate, but we got there eventually. Overall, it was a positive experience and good value for the price, but faster firing and a smoother website would make it even better.

Thinking of getting one of the at-home kits for my daughter's birthday. Do they come with everything we need to paint something cool, or do I gotta buy brushes and stuff separately?

N Noor Q. 1 month ago
Yeah, the at-home kits are pretty complete. I got one for my niece last month and it had the ceramic, paints, and even brushes. Just needed some water for rinsing.

They're usually pretty comprehensive, comes with the bisque, glazes, and a brush. Some of the bigger ones might even include firing if you drop it back off.

Anyone know how long it usually takes for the pottery to get fired? Planning a surprise for my girlfriend and need to know when it'll be ready.

L Lisa P. 1 month ago
From my experience, it's usually about 5-7 days for firing after you drop it off. They'll tell you an exact pickup date.

I think it was about a week when I went a few months ago. They fire in batches, so it depends on their schedule.

Are the glazes they use safe for food? Like, if I paint a mug or a plate, can I actually eat or drink from it?

D Dan M. 1 month ago
Yup, totally food safe! All the glazes they use are lead-free. I've got a couple of mugs I painted there and use them all the time.

R Raj Vargas 1 month ago
Yeah, they mention that on their website or in the studio. They only use food-safe glazes for pottery painting, so no worries there.

Can I use more than one coupon if I have like, a newsletter one and a birthday discount? Or is it usually just one per purchase?

T Tara 1 month ago
Nah, most places, especially for party packages, usually only let you use one discount. I tried combining a couple once and it didn't work.

Generally, you can't stack coupons at Crackpots. It's usually one per transaction or event, especially if you're booking a party.

How do the at-home kits compare to Color Me Mine's? Thinking of trying one but haven't used Crackpots before.

E Emma 1 month ago
I've done both! Crackpots kits feel a bit more curated, with good instructions. Color Me Mine is fine too, but Crackpots often has cooler ceramic options, I think.

Crackpots kits are pretty solid, I'd say similar quality to Color Me Mine. Main difference is Crackpots is local to Longmont if you're in the area for firing.

Does Crackpots do any discounts for military families? My husband is active duty and it would be awesome if we could save a bit on a family outing.

J James T. 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure they do! I remember seeing something about a military discount on their site or when I was in the studio. Worth asking.

Yes, they offer a military discount. My brother-in-law used it for his kids' art camp over the summer. Just show your ID when you're there.

I'm in Denver, can they ship finished pottery pieces to me? Or do I have to drive all the way to Longmont to pick it up?

M Mike 1 month ago
I don't think they ship finished pieces. I've always had to go pick mine up. Best to double-check, but I haven't heard of them shipping.

M Marcus 1 month ago
Pretty sure pickup is the only option for finished pottery. They don't ship glazed and fired items, too fragile probably.

My kid wants to do a summer camp, but I work during the day. Do I need to book way ahead or can I just sign them up closer to summer?

A Amber 1 month ago
For summer camps, I'd definitely book early if you can. They usually have an 'early bird' discount and spots fill up fast, especially for popular weeks.

K Kevin T. 1 month ago
You should totally sign up early! They have an early bird special sometimes and those camps get full quick, especially if your kid wants a specific week.
